flock

What it is​

flock is a native macOS window onto your herdr session. It is the mattstack way to use herdr: drag and drop anything you see to move or rearrange it, with a workspaces view for rearranging across workspaces. It also supports keyboard navigation and improves how you interact with herdr notifications. The project is in continual development.

Open it​

Download Flock-<version>.dmg from the latest release, open it and drag Flock onto Applications. It needs macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon and herdr 0.9 or later on your PATH. Start herdr the way you normally do, then open Flock. It attaches to your default herdr session and shows it straight away, and offers a Start herdr button if herdr is not running. Flock checks for updates by itself, or use Flock > Check for Updates.

What you do in it​

Rearrange panes, tabs and workspaces. Drag to move them. Cmd R enters rearrange mode and Esc leaves it. Cmd Z and Shift Cmd Z undo and redo a move. Shift Cmd R opens All Workspaces to rearrange across workspaces.

Jump around. The workspace switcher works like macOS Cmd Tab: hold Ctrl and press Tab. The tab switcher is Option Tab. Cmd K opens the command palette, which lists every command with its key.

Split and move panes from the keyboard. Cmd D splits right and Shift Cmd D splits down. Option Cmd with an arrow key focuses the pane on that side, and adding Shift moves the focused pane that way.

Handle notifications. Cmd J opens the oldest notification and Shift Cmd J clears them. A question from an agent stays in the sidebar until you answer it.

Use rt from a pane. If you run agents with rt, each pane gets an rt button that opens rt nav, rt glitter, rt run and rt runner in a modal. Herds get their own sidebar section with progress read from rt, and rt chat is a click away. None of it is needed to use Flock with plain herdr.

Settings that matter​

flock has no keys in the mattstack settings registry. Its own Settings (Cmd ,) hold these:
