boxscore

What it is

boxscore is the Forge Leaderboard: a local dashboard that ranks a hand-picked set of GitLab users against each other across a window. It ranks volume metrics (lines, MRs merged and reviewed, pipelines) and quality and consistency metrics (review depth, review latency, revert rate, MR size health, coding-day streak, review reciprocity). It also has an optional view of you against your past self.

These metrics are easy to game. Lines and MR counts reward big diffs and lots of tiny MRs, and "MRs reviewed" rewards rubber-stamping. Pair every speed or volume number with its quality partner, prefer the trend view over absolute ranking, and do not let boxscore become a scoreboard people are measured on.

Open it

Open boxscore from the mattstack window. It is a team app, so it expects you to be in a team. Turn it on or off with rt apps.

What you do in it

Read the standings. The leaderboard has a strip of leaders, one per group, over a standings table with an Overview tab and one tab per group: delivery, volume, quality, consistency and collaboration.

Change the window and the view. The page header switches the range between 7d, 30d and 90d, shows values or trend (each value beside its change from the prior equal window), and shows a table or cards.

Open a person. A person page has a profile header, a summary of where they lead and place, and a stat rail grouped by group. Pick a stat on the rail to open its panel: its value, rank and definition, with the MRs, notes or pipelines behind it.

Refresh the data. The Refresh button in the top bar rescans GitLab. The last numbers stay on screen, dimmed, while it runs.

Tune what counts. The header gear opens boxscore's settings, and the same keys are in console under /settings#boxscore.
